ClearThinking is committed to leaving no stone unturned for Queensland youth mental health complex cases.

How will we achieve this?

ClearThinking is committed to creating a youth assessment service that will provide assessments for complex cases that is unlike that obtained by informal referral to a health profession for a second opinion.

1. The assessment will directly involve the most respected clinicians in the field.

2. Their unstructured clinical evaluations will be supplemented by age-appropriate structured and psychometrically sound diagnostic, psychological, family and neurocognitive evaluations and testing.

3. Case conferencing will value-add by testing the provisional case formulation and treatment recommendations against a third expert opinion and be validated by case conferencing the final report with the referring clinician, community based services and the family concerned.

4. A case review 6 months after the first assessment will be encouraged so that progress can be reviewed, problems in treatment can be assessed and diagnostic errors can be corrected most importantly the assessment will be comprehensive and multi-faceted.
